my last two days off I had to spend with my parents, because they drove up from Houston to harrass, I mean, spend time with me. Dealing with them is so fucking stressful.
Friday I got to listen to my mom tell me how filthy our apartment is and how we’re living like white trash. This is actually an improvement, usually she tells me we live like “N-”. I hate racial slurs so I’m not going to write it, but I’m sure you can imagine what a racist white woman might have said as an insult that starts with the letter n.
so while being called white trash was an improvement on my mother’s part, it still pissed me the fuck off. She’s in my god damn home, I don’t care how shitty it is, she doesn’t have any right to insult me, dave and our home like that.
pissed
me
off
godsdamnit I was mad.
and to make matters more frustrating she insisted on packing the living room. That would be nice, except she can’t fucking pack and hates every proof of my independence and immaturity so she threw everything into boxes and tried to break the things she didn’t like. Fucking pissed about that too. She tried to break my $30 DnD mini by tossing it in a box with books and heavy shit. She threw books in boxes so that it looked like something shit a box full of books, instead of placing them in the box so that, you know, they filled it up. the only things she didn’t try to break were my games, and only because she thought all of our games were david’s and she kept saying “TELL ME WHAT TO PACK AMY, I DON”T WANT DAVID TO COME HOME AND CUSS ME OUT FOR MESSING UP HIS STUFF”
she screamed it at me, that’s why it’s in caps
THAT pissed me off too, for multiple reasons. She thinks so poorly of David that she thinks he’d scream and cuss and pitch a goddamn fit just because she helped up pack. She thinks so poorly of me that she doesn’t care if I get mad.
ALSO we don’t have to move out until May 30th, and that was may 2nd that they came up.
We did have lunch with David and it was nice, we at a Fera’s, this cheap but delish Italian place by the university. And I had leftovers that I managed to save for Sunday, when I worked.
And we did throw out that nasty ass chair we never used anyways, which was nice, but there are boxes there now.
My parents stayed until Dave came back home, and then they stayed and made everything uncomfortable for a while.
Dave brought our friend, Jason, with him because we game on Friday nights, and my parents don’t know how to deal with people, at all. It was awful, and they even stayed when Nick, one of our other friends, came over. I honestly thought they were going to make us kick them out. I don’t care if I “should” have been spending time with them, they insulted me in my own home, and they insulted Dave in our home. Never fucking do it to his face, just talk shit about him to try and make me leave and move back in with them. pisses me off
anyways that was friday.
Saturday started off nice, I got to snuggle in with Dave, until my parents called us. But it was at like 9:30a when they called, which I guess is normal hours or something, but I told them we’d call them when we were ready.
We woke up and got ready and called them at eleven, and then my mom wanted to go outside and walk. Like, exercise walking, not strolling around enjoying a park or spending time together or something. She wanted to work out with us because we’re fat. She didn’t say we were fat, but she said we needed to get out and walk. we hadn’t eaten yet, since we thought we were going to have lunch together. We did go eat lunch, but my parents had already eaten, so it was me and dave eating lunch with my mom making faces and sounds of disapproval.
in case you didn’t know, eating makes you fat and ugly, you should never eat, especially breakfast
yeah, that’s my mom’s fucking gospel, she has coffee for breakfast, with maybe a donut, eats nothing or maybe a cheap ass burger or sandwich for lunch, and eats nearly nothing for dinner. So her body is always starving, so her body is always storing fat and burning muscle, she doesn’t care, she doesn’t even BELIEVE that. That is lies to make you fat.
whatever, anyways lunch/breakfast was a disaster.
Dave is attending a seminar thing in June up in Denver, CO and I’m not going because I’d be bored to tears (also we can’t share a room which pisses me off but whatever, I’m over that) and I’d rather work and save my paid time off for a vacation we can both enjoy.
so my mom keeps fucking harassing me about being alone for a week. Oh no, I’m alone, wah. But she’s like “your going to get raped, someone’s going to rob the house, you have to have a friend come over and stay with you so you aren’t alone, I need their number, give me 3 numbers we can reach you at if you don’t answer your phone, if you don’t answer your phone we’re calling the police!” and all this bullshit about stupid crap that no one can control and then she’s all “take the whole week off and come to houston, we’ll take care of you, you won’t have to worry about anything take the week off, fly down to houston, you don’t have to drive, you’ll be safe, we can fly you down on your days off if you need to work, we’ll fly you down. Take off, come to houston, you need to stay with us, fly down to houston” and she’s going on and on and on.
And then Dave says “you worry too much, stop worrying, you can’t control any of that”
and my dad says “Shut your mouth”
WHAT THE FUCK
SERIOUSLY
Still pissed off about that too.
anyways, that pissed dave off, that they tried to treat him like a child re:(how they treat me) and he left. I followed him, and that pissed them off. They were like “AMY get back here! NOW!” and shit. My dad came out and apologized and we went back in, I finished my lunch but my MOM fucking let the busboy take away dave’s plate. Dave was not finished with his lunch, and she just sat there. I know she did it out of spite. That’s how she is, mean and spiteful. That made me mad, but dave wasn’t mad about it.
So our day got off to a GREAT start.
And then my mom was bothering us about our sofas we have, and reminding me how shitty they are and she just couldn’t believe that we were going to take them with us, so we went to a furniture place. we looked at furniture and woo, was it “fun” man. I was bored as soon as I walked in, but really can’t stand my mom’s whining and bitching, so we went. Afterwards we went to a comic shop, because it was free comic book day, and my mom stayed in the car because she doesn’t care about spending time together. I got some more DnD minis and dave got some free comic books.
then we went back to the apt to see what there was to do out side, and mom complained every ten minutes about what the hell were we waiting for, we need to get outside. Finally we found something cool, a big cat sanctuary, called C.A.R.E., out by Decatur. My mom made snide comments because they have “research” in the name of their organization, and she kept ignoring me when I told her they rescued cats abandoned by irresponsible owners. Idiots that think wild animals make great pets, and then freak out when they start getting bigger than them and eating 100+lbs of meat a day. Seriously, she just ignored me, when we got there she asked the tour guide.
but that place was great, I had an awesome time there. It was the best part of the day. I got to feed some chicken to one of the tigers, and we got to see a lot of big cats. They were lovely, but it made me mad too, because they should not need to be there, but assholes keep buying them, and keep throwing them out when they get too big. One of the tigers had even be declawed, it was awful. Because her toes are gone the rest of her foot bones are going to wear down her feet until the bones are coming out of the skin. That shit makes me mad.
But besides that, it was really nice to be able to go there. The tigers chuff as a greeting, and I chuffed back when they did that. Dave, my mom, and dad, did not. They got sprayed at by three tigers, it was funny. None of the tigers tried to spray at me.
After there, we went to the Ponder Steakhouse. it was awful. Our neighbor recommended it and I thought we’d try it out. Well, apparently STEAK is not what one goes there to eat. Me and Dave shared a porterhouse, only instead of being delishushes it was fail. first off they cut it in half. that made me mad, if I wanted a half assed steak I’d have ordered one. Also they charged THREE DOLLARS to cut the steak.
Yes.
$3.00USD to CUT an already cut steak, in half. I didn’t even want them to do that, and i didn’t even know they were GOING to do that, as they didn’t say anything about it. assholes
and I was especially NOT expecting it because I ordered rare, and dave ordered medium rare and they ASKED me if medium rare was ok, so I said sure.
AND THEN the steaks came out medium WELL and WELL!! WHAT THE FUCK
HOW do you fuck up RARE and MEDIUM RARE so badly? I don’t know. We had to wait again, for our steaks to come out. And they were not grilled over an open flame, but cooked on a griddle. And while the meat was interesting, it was not something I’d eat again.
To say it was gamey was generous, I like gamey food this steer at some ass or shit or gods know what. It was interesting to try and figure out what the hell the steer ATE, but that is not usually why I eat beef. Now it was very tender and marbled nicely. But that hardly makes up for the taste being so… interesting. I have no idea what your supposed to order at this place, but clearly steak isn’t one of them.
so I was still hungry after we ate there, and when I said so my mom harassed me about being fat.
We came back and sat around and had some beer and stuff, but it was only relaxing for a little while. My mom didn’t want to be social so she walked Franklin. I didn’t care, Franklin loves being outside. And then my parents left, but kept not leaving, they just kept saying “We need to go, we need to leave, we gotta go” but they didn’t leave!
Finally they did leave.
finally
but we watched a movie later that night, at the movie tavern. We watched it there because I was STILL HUNGRY and also I needed a drink. I really wanted sushi, but we didn’t eat that, I ate at the movie tavern, Dave got me dinner, got the beers. We watched “forgetting Sarah Marshall” which I thought was going to be awful but it was actually good. I enjoyed it, it was a fun movie.
I’m feelin lots better today, I got cheered up yesterday actually but I was too busy to blogs about it. Today is my day off! I slept super late and now am watching the cartoons and smokin the hookah with Dave. it is awesome.
The chemistry department had a mixer Friday and we went, it was pretty fun. They had a fish fry so we got to have some pretty good fried fish and hush puppies. And various snacks and such. We took home some french fries and some dip, its pretty good stuff. Saturday we had a sushi party, we hosted it so it was cheap for us! We just provided the sushi rice and cucumbers, and I made some miso soup. I found a site where I could get supplies for miso hella cheap. Asianfoodgrocer . com if you are interested. We had some imitation crab meat and Dave used it to make a spicy crab meat saucy thing. Japanese mayo, chili paste and the meat blended up. It was really good! We watched 300 with the riff tracks and after we played trivial pursuit, genius edition. It was pretty funny, since all of us are awful at sports. But my team got the shittiest question!! “Who killed Cleopatra” the answer was freaking “Cleopatra”!!! That is such B.S.!!! I was mad arg >:( Anyways, we got to hang out with Kim and Byron, whom we never get to see so it was pretty awesome. They brought some pretty sweet beers too, left over from their beer tasting party. Friday I worked at a place in the mall, its called Museum Earth. It sells all sorts of random stuff, new age stuff and jewelry and fossils and all sorts of stuff. Its a part time job for minimum wage, but at least its income! I’m interviewing *again* at Applebee’s tomorrow at 2, but I *think* this is to set down my schedule. Supposedly I should be hearing back from the place where Diana works this week too, but that has been all month. They are a startup net business and aren’t very organized though. Dave thought he had a full scholarship, but it is only partial, and he didn’t apply for financial aid this semester, since he thought he didn’t need it. The scholarship pays for all the fees and stuff, which cuts his tuition in half about, but he still had to make a payment or be dropped. Well he has to pay about $1600 for the semester, but because of some bureaucratic bullshit he had to pay a third of the WHOLE THING, $1300! AND THEN because he didn’t file the form for a PAYMENT PLAN he had to pay $300 MORE!! We have like, no money now, it super pissed both of us off. We are lucky, because Dave’s dad is going to pay our rent and bills so we don’t get evicted, and my parents lent us some money for groceries. But Dave doesn’t get payed until *September* and I just now got a job. It is such anger making!! I also don’t know if Dave is even eligible for financial aid, since his dad is still claiming him as a dependant on tax forms. I suppose since his dad is aiding us we don’t actually need it, but I think he’d rather not rely on his dad. I certainly would prefer if we both could be financially independent. But I suppose that is how it goes.
Kthnxbai!
(I just noticed I used emoticons as sentence ending punctuation. That is kinda weird?)
I applied at a staffing agency but they don’t really do clerical work, they do labor stuff. Like construction clean up and waste management and other such stuff. I don’t mind working these jobs, I kinda like breaking a sweat and doing tough work. But I’m pretty irritated that I wasted 4.5 years of my life on a degree that has so far been nothing but trouble.
Anyways, yesterday we got to hang out with our friends from Richardson and we saw the movie Hot Fuzz at the dollar theater. It was a most hilarious movie, I recommend getting it on DVD or watching it a the dollar theater if you can. Good stuff. Anyways, we hung out most of the day, until elevenish at night. I was hoping that we could have come back earlier but I did have fun and enjoyed myself. Amanda got me some birthday gifts too! I was really excited about it. No one ever gets me birthday gifts, at least in my experience back in Houston, in the past. She was embarrassed about them for some reason, so I opened them in the car on the way home. She got me some spiffy stuff, some nice girly stuff, lotion and such, and a cool dragon. I have him sittin on my desk with my other dragons.
Anyways, I think Dave is takin me out to eat, so later!
Dave and I are finally back home from our visit to our families. We stayed with Dave’s dad for a few days, and got to see Dave’s aunt who is in chemo for liver and colon cancer. She looked like she was doing well when we saw her. After visiting with Dave’s aunt we got to go see April, since Dave’s aunt lives in the north west side of Houston. I had fun hanging out with April, she even treated me, Dave, and Ben to dinner! She got me chocolates and candy and some spiffy stuff! I was pretty excited. Dave and Ben ate all the chocolates that I liked though, I only have the gross coconut and toffee chocolates left
I wish I coulda spent more time with my buds and stuff, but none of them except April were free. Susan pissed me off pretty bad, because I told her on Saturday that I’d be in Houston on Wednesday, Thursday, and maybe Friday night. And she never got ahold of me, I had to get ahold of her, and she was too busy with her other friends to come hang out and say “happy birthday”. And Friday it was her friend’s birthday so she was busy all night. Well fuck you too, I thought we were friends too. I had a goddamn birthday on Monday and you didn’t even send me a crappy e-card, but you spend all day with this other person on her birthday.
I am fucking tired of everyone ignoring! It really pisses me off! I’m not upset at Otis, because I know she has a full-time job and that was really short notice for her. But Susan and Leslie don’t work, or go to school, or anything! You’d think that people that are my friends could take the time out to at least stop by for five minutes and say hello when I’m in town! It is not like I live there anymore, I live five hours away!
Had to get that out of my system, sorry for the interruption.
That was Monday and on Tuesday we sealed Dave’s dad’s new fence for some monies and then chilled. It was actually pretty fun. I hadn’t done hard work in a long time and it felt good to break a sweat. That was about all we did on Tuesday I think.
Wednesday we woke up fairly early and drove up to visit my parents. They had just gotten back from a cruise in Alaska and had gotten me an’ Dave some souvenirs. They also got us a little bit of smoked salmon. We haven’t tried it yet, but I am excited. I love smoked salmon! They gave me my birthday gift also, a sappy card and some monies. And they had also bought me Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team. The difference between it and the blue version is that it is on the GameBoy Advanced instead of the DS. But I think I like this version better so far. The controls on the DS version are a little weird and irritating. Anyways, they took us out to a movie and to eat, and I got to go to the dentist. My tooth started hurting like hell when I drank cold stuff on Saturday, totally out of the blue. I was worried it was a cavity, but it was apparently just torn tissue. So good news yey! It was a little stressful staying with my parents, since my mom is my mom. I got to visit with Jennifer and Megan though, which was pretty sweet. I had gotten a bottle of wine ’cause I thought we were going to be making fish tacos on Thursday, but it turns out my parents wanted me and Dave to pay for it all, so we didn’t. Wednesday night we watched The Rock and Jennifer fell asleep, so we took her home after it was over and went over to Megan’s to hang out. Megan and I had a glass of wine each and we watched most of Raiders of the Lost Ark, which had been retitled on the DVD release to Indian Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark for some reason. Anyways, we left around 0130 so she could get some sleep and go to work in the morning.
I woke up fairly early for us on Thursday, around 0930-ish. Dave woke up around 1300 though, lol. We went to Armand Bayou Nature Reserve and went on a trail walk. It was pretty fun. There were tons of Golden Orb Spiders. Tons! They were everywhere! It was pretty sweet, we even saw a deer. Afterwards we hung out with Jennifer again and ate at Applebee’s. Dave and I ordered poorly. I had the French onion soup and they brought it out and the bowl was filled to less than half way!! I was pretty irritated, but that Applebee’s isn’t very competent, I have found. After that we got some snack foods and went back to my parent’s and watched some movies and finished off the wine. We watched Die Hard 3 and I don’t remember what else. They all started blurring together for me. I got kinda tired a little early so I went up to bed around elevenish, but Dave and Jennifer were gabbing about comics and were pretty loud and my mom kept coming in to tell me alcohol is bad for your liver so I shouldn’t drink it, so I couldn’t really sleep. Dave did take Jennifer home eventually and we slept pretty good that night.
Friday morning we had to go back to Dave’s dad’s place ’cause Dave had to sign some stuff that day. I took a nap and played my Pearl game some. Dave’s dad and step mom got it for me for my birthday, it was so nice of them! I really like it too, it is really fun so far. I had lots of fun digging around the Underground last night also. Whee! Anyways, Dave and Ben and I all went out to eat with Freda and Jeff and we had a good time. We ate a newish Tex-Mex restaurant that had really spiffy food. I had a stuffed avacado, which I guess is really more Cal-Mex than Tex-Mex, but it was good either way! I also got to have a few Amaretto Sours, they were pretty good too. Afterwards we went back to my parent’s place and spent some time with them. But on the way there Dave got me some birthday gifts! He got me Leaf Green and the National Pokedex and he got himself Diamond. He said he is gonna get me more things too, I’m excited. Dave spoils me! Anyways, we went back to my parents and spent some time with them. I don’t really remember what we did, I was a little tired. Then me and Dave played our games and such until we got even more tired and fell asleep.
We took Franklin with us on our trip, and he really liked it at my parents’ place. Their cat, Kichou (my old kitty but she likes going outside and stuff so we didn’t take her) did really well with Franklin and Franklin seemed to really like having another cat around. We are (I am) thinking about getting another kitty if I get a job. I will hopefully be working at a local restaurant soon, it isn’t a job in Earth Science, but it is a job that pays money! I think I wanna take a little bit of a break, anyways, and work a job with no major responsibilities and just sort of exist for a season or two.
I forgot to take pictures with my dad’s camera, but we took some with our camera phones. If any of you know how to transfer the pictures from the phone to a computer please let me know, I want to show off my kitty! I know you can email it and stuff to yourself, but neither of us have the internet on our phones. Halps!
k, thanks for listening earlier, but I feel much better now. The fact that we can’t adopt Schroeder is good! It means someone else out there is being responsible and saving a kitty and giving him a good home! And now me an’ Dave get to look at all the adorable kitties all over again.
It is a tough decision! Especially for Dave, I ask him which kitty and he says “ok, well, lemme give you my top three, Baby… Lorenzo… oh, Tucker is cute! Him too, and Mister Orange, and aww La La, what do you think about her?” Heehee.
Here is the Texas Main Coone Rescue’s Website if you want to save a kitty!
Dave and I had our house warming party today (saturday 9) and it was most successful, lots of people came over and hung out. We had tons of food and guess what, now we have a grill!! Nico, Walt, and Kesho got us a grill as a gift! With really nice grill tools for it and hickory wood and coal and everything!! It was so awesome! I just couldn’t believe it. Not only that, but they brought food with which to cook, it was so much fun. We had grilled chicken and sausages and me and Kim made stuffed peppers, I think they were green chili peppers, it was wonderful. The guys stood around and grilled, it took them two tried to get it right and Kim and I gave them a hard time about it. But it was all in good fun. We had spaghetti and french bread with garlic spread and marinara sauce and meat sauce and chips and soda and beers. I had fun and Dave had fun and I did my best to make sure everyone had a good time. I hope I was successful, I think I was. I’m very happy and excited because it was such a success as a party, we got to see people we don’t get to see a lot now, and Dave got to see some friends he hadn’t seen in a very long time. Yey. Very much fun times!!
I fell at:
-7.00 Left/Right, -4.62 Libertarian/Authoritarian
Wanna find out what I’m talking about? Political Compass
It was a pretty fun quiz and they seem to have done their homework.
I’ve been meaning to blog about it forever! But I’ve been busy and tired. Anyways.
I had to work on Valentine’s Day but I got off around 1900 and we had reservations at The Blue Fish in Addison. It is a really snazzy sushi bar slash Japanese resturaunt. I got offa work and changed shirts, and me an’ Dave drove to Kim and Byron’s. We all drove to The Blue Fish and they had lost our reservation! I was there when Dave called them and made the reservation and everything. And they were like, “We don’t have a reservation for Birdwell, what’s your first name?” And it was irritating! But we did get seated within ten minutes so it was ok. They had the best sushi I’ve ever had! We didn’t actually have sushi, technically, we had maki. Maki are the rolls, they’re really common in American sushi bars. But the quality of ingredients was exquisite! I could not believe it! All of us shared an appetizer of summer rolls, which were like egg rolls but not fried and with rice flour instead of egg flour. Then we all shared about 5 maki. It was almost too much. The food was so rich and perfect, it practically melted in my mouth. Kim and Byron even ordered a tuna roll, of the type that usually make me kinda ill. On the account they have scallions in them, which are the most nauseating food ever! Disgusting! Anyways, they ordered a roll of this type, and I thought to try it, and not only did I not get ill from the taste, as I usually do, it actually started tasting good. And everything else was just to die for! I had some plum wine, and it was perfectly sweet, with a little bit of tartness to it. And Byron and I shared some great sake.
Afterwards we drove to a grocery store and got some ice cream, and drove back to Kim and Byron’s. We hung out and ate some ice creams, it was really fun. Kim was all excited ’cause she got outta lab early and they had lotsa fun before dinner. Their doggy, Hera was being kinda snotty, but she is still a puppy, and all young animals are little snots.
We stayed out a bit later than intended, I had to work again in the morning. I worked the midshift I think, fortunately not the open! We open at 800 and that is too damn early! It means I gotta wake up at 600 to get ready and be there on time! But Dave and I had our own fun and we slept great.
It was an exciting Valentine’s Day, I’ll have to remember The Blue Fish for my Bday.
This past weekend Dave and I went up to Nacogdoces for his brother’s birthday. We had fun, Dave gave him some money and a card, and I didn’t know if I should had gotten him something, so I guess it was from both of us. We drove up there Friday just after Dave got outta class. I was gonna blog about going up there then, but Dave got out early so we left before I could. We were gonna meet Ben at his dorm, but I forgot my cell phone! And when we went to their house up there Dave realized he forgot his key! His dad and step-mom weren’t there either, so we drove back to Nacogdoces and Dave remembered where his dorm was. So yey. We hung out for a bit, then went to Ben’s party thing with his friends at the Jalapeno Tree. The food was not spicey at all, ’cause we were in East Texas, but it was still good. I had the cheese enchilada and tamale dinner, Dave had some stuffed chile peppers. His was good too. We stayed there for a while, then went ahead and went up to the house. His dad and step-mom were there and so we could get inside, yey. We hung out and watched some movies until about midnight, then hit the hay. Ben had gone to some after party so he didn’t come back until pretty late.
We got up the next “morning” a little after noon, I think (maybe a little before). And Dave’s dad had cooked breakfast, so we had some really good sausage and blueberry pancakes. We chilled some more, and played some Magic, and drove around town for a while. Eventually we went to eat at a pretty spiffy “italian” resturaunt for Ben’s Bday. It took forever for our food to come out, they had lost the ticket! But it wasn’t a big deal, we were havin’ fun shootin the breeze anyways. The food was pretty dang good, I had a ribeye steak, with mashed potatoes and green beans. Dave had a chicken and pasta dish, Ben got the ravioli type dish, Freda got a steak too, but a different cut, and Jeff got the other steak cut (there were three steak cuts on the menu). My food was certaintly delish, but Dave’s was a bit too greasy. I think everyone else managed to order the right thing though, since they seemed to like it. Freda and Jeff went ahead back to the house, and we went over to Ben’s dorm to hang out and stuff for a bit. Then we came back to the house and watched part of two movies and chilled. It was nice.
We woke up on Sunday a little after 8:00am and ate some breakfast and headed on out around 9:00am ish. We got back in Dallas around noon-ish and ate lunch, and had a hard core nap. Long car rides are tiring!
And that was about it. It was a pretty fun weekend over all. Tomorrow I have a job fair to go to. Hopefully I’ll be prepared!
